AXDW: Escada postcard from Côte d’Azur

Wait! Don’t start yet! Put some -appropriate- music on first!

How would you imagine a collection inspired by the French Riviera? With bright blue, like the sea of Provence at the Côte d’Azur or green like the floral streets of Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence? With vintage details like the antique Rolls Royce at the Auto Mobile Museum in Cannes or full of pervasive luxury like the red carpet dresses of the Cannes Film Festival? The mystery was solved, however, in the 14th Athens Xclusive Designers Week where the German house Escada held its first official presentation of the Resort collection, with the signature of the Fashion Director of the House, Daniel Wingate. His inspirations were the vibrant cities of the French Riviera. So are the inspirations of this post! Hhmm… you are playful Daniel and we like it!

happy escadaIn the beginning it was all black and white… And I liked it because I am more of an old black and white movies fan!

DSC_1196Unfortunately things are not always quite so simple… as black and white. Even if there are colorful details. There are a million grey areas… And then it is even more difficult to choose. Nice, Toulon or Saint-Tropez? I’ll take the option “Plages” and I wish all the dilemmas in life were so simple!

THAT IS the question!

DSC_1253But if you are a dreamer and forever optimist, like me, you can see colors everywhere… Υou can find, for example, the yellow color in the sunset at the port of Saint-Tropez!

anigifHowever, the colors that were engraved on my memory were blue and yellow, which in my mind always symbolize the Greek sun and sea. And for this reason Escada chose -rightly in my opinion- for the presentation of this collection, a country where the sun and sea dominate!

À bientôt…
