Wait! Don’t start yet! Put some -appropriate- music on first!
What has in common, sportswear, Italy, a German film, a scaffolding, a Minotaur and some healthy food. Obviously nothing! And yet in one day during Paris fashion week you can combine all these. Let’s say like this…
If you start your day with the presentation of the SONIA by Sonia Rykiel SONIA line for Spring/Summer 2015, you will enjoy a playful, and effortlessly elegant collection with some strong sportswear references. And you have all these… perched on scaffolding, since the presentation was pretty original! With a very fresh idea Sonia by Sonia Rykiel collection redefines city style by bending the rules: day dresses adorned with sequins, sporting stripes in fine silk and jogging pants with tailored jackets.
Comfy outfits, like loose T-shirts and jogging pants made their way out of the gym and into the world of fashion and the French designer rodes this new activewear wave. Sonia Rykiel SONIA line makes us dream a world where fashion is just a creative game to be lived in and enjoyed every moment, by making your own rules! Why not a hoodie with a pencil skirt or some silk sporty shorts? Are we dreaming?
And after this moving up and down the scaffolding, what’s best than some good food in order to get all these calories that the models were burning during the show! The destination was the Soul Kitchen, a cute restaurant tucked in a quiet neighborhood of Montmartre. The reason to get in trouble to go to the north of Paris? But obviously, because the Soul Kitchen reminded me of this German film with the same name (great film by the way, I recommend it! Check also the song at the beginning of the post) In this film the chef gets in a really creative mood! Therefore, based on this kind of decision-a movie- we arrived at Soul kitchen.
There we discovered a very cozy (and tiny as usual in Paris) space with a menu of three mouth-watering and healthy dishes that change every day, lovely handmade soft drinks in various flavors, elusive carrot cake and other sweets. Not only are ingredients often organic or local, but there is also one veggie dish every day. We took the vegeterian burger with feta and spinach with salad, lemonade flavored mango and carrot cake to end up with! So tasty and so healthy! After all, we basically ate vegetables, even the dessert had carrots… #no_guilt_for_the_foodies
When you receive an invitation by an Italian brand that you have never heard in your life, for its first pop up store opening in Paris, you’re at least curious to discover it! Nevertheless, it’s the weird name of the brand, Grinko, which triggers us… Well, what awaited us was quite new for us! Perhaps the only time during all this time we are attending presentations, that I catch myself and Polina herself to adore ALL the clothes and accessories!
With attention to every little detail, all the garments looked like they were made especially for you! Fantastic tailored outwear, bags in geometric shapes, precious luxurius materials such as fur and metallic accessories in small doses, all been showcased in a different way than we’ve seen many-many times so far! This was accompanied by a pleasant surprise: a very interesting space that mostly resembled a modern art gallery, with arty objects like minotaur, bodies made of glass stalactites and more. After this first acquaintance with the Italian-Russian partnership of Grinko, be sure that we will be following their creative projects from now on… They made a winning first impression.
That’s all folks from the Paris Fashion Week. Until next time with the fourth and last part from the Paris Fashion Week diary stories, remember “The only real elegance is in the mind; if you’ve got that, the rest really comes from it.”
